Silver Brazing Wire
Silver brazing wire is a hard soldering (brazing) material preferred especially in applications requiring high conductivity, corrosion resistance, and durable joints. Below you can find brief information about its usage areas and application method:
Silver Brazing Wire – Application Areas and Method
Application Areas:
* Air conditioning and refrigeration systems (copper tube joining)
* Automotive industry (high-strength joining of metal parts)
* Electrical and electronic applications (soldering requiring high conductivity)
* Medical and precision instrument manufacturing
* Jewelry and precious metal workmanship
Application Method:
1. Surface Preparation: Surfaces to be brazed must be cleaned (free from oil, oxide, and dirt).
2. Use of Flux: Appropriate flux is applied to prevent oxidation and improve joint quality (some wires may contain flux).
3. Heating: Parts are evenly heated to the proper temperature (typically between 600–800 °C).
4. Wire Application: The heated surface is touched with silver brazing wire; the wire melts, spreads, and fills the gap to complete the joining process.
5. Cooling and Cleaning: After brazing, the joint is allowed to cool slowly, then flux residues are cleaned.
